WHAT IS AN ARTESIAN WELL?
An artesian well is an outflow of groundwater located in a pressurized water table between two layers of soil or rock. We call an artesian well any borehole that collects water at depth for domestic or commercial use.
ARTESIAN WELL DRILLING
To build an artesian well, we have a high-performance and complex rotary drill to cross the layers of gravel and impermeable earth. Our team then introduces a tubular steel pipe to the aquifer. It prevents subsidence and isolates the captured water from other infiltration water. Under certain circumstances, wells must be sealed to prevent any risk of contamination. Our professionals observe the strictest work and quality standards to offer you the best possible result.
OBTAIN A DRILLING PERMIT
Authorization for the development of an artesian well is issued by your municipality. No drilling operation is possible without this permit. The criteria for obtaining a permit are as follows:
Installation at least 15 metres away from a watertight wastewater treatment system
Installation at least 30 metres away from a non-watertight wastewater treatment system
Installation at a minimum distance of 30 metres from cultivation plots
It is essential to respect these distances on your own property and in relation to neighbouring properties. If this is not possible, the well must be sealed and a technologist must intervene, subject to municipal acceptance. The permit is issued once all these steps have been followed.
